Yukon

The Yukon is a rugged, hilly, and sparsely populated territory in northwest Canada. Mount Logan, Canada’s highest peak, as well as glaciers, trails, and the Alsek River, are all found in Kluane National Park and Reserve. Ivvavik National Park, in the extreme north, protects Porcupine caribou calving habitats. Numerous glacier-fed alpine lakes, notably the vividly colored Emerald Lake, may be found in the south.

Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is the province’s nominating process. Prospective immigrants with the skills and expertise sought by the territory can apply for a Yukon Provincial Nomination Certificate, following which they can apply to the Government of Canada for permanent residence in Canada.

Yukon Express Entry (YEE)

Through the provision of “enhanced” allocations that can be used in conjunction with the federal Express Entry immigration selection system, the YNP Express Entry Program (YEE) improves the overall allocation for the YNP. Employers in the Yukon who are unable to fill skilled-worker job openings due to a lack of Canadian citizens or permanent residents now have access to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Express Entry pool of candidates.

Skilled Worker

Employers in Yukon can sponsor foreign skilled workers for permanent residency in Canada under this scheme. Applicants must be employed in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B occupation to be considered for sponsorship.

Critical Impact Worker

This program was established to assist firms in sponsoring persons for immigration who have worked in a high-demand semi-skilled or unskilled occupation in the area. Sponsored applicants must have a job offer from a Yukon employer, but they are not obliged to be in Yukon when applying.

Business Nominee

Individuals with demonstrated business experience who desire to start a new business, partner with an existing business, or buy and operate an existing business in Yukon should apply for this program. Applicants must be willing to invest a large amount of money in their Yukon-based company.

The Yukon Community Pilot (YCP)

The Yukon Community Pilot aims to assist provincially nominated individuals in obtaining a special sort of work permit that allows them to work for several businesses in one of the Yukon communities that are taking part.
